History

FD Associates was founded by Fae Daniels in 1990 to provide guidance to clients, both domestic and foreign, in the complex arena of export licensing, technology transfers and the requirements of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

FD Associates mission is to assist small and medium-sized businesses in obtaining licenses or other approvals from the Department of State, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) for articles, technology or services subject to the ITAR, or the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) for commercial or dual-use technology subject to the EAR and exporting in compliance with these regulations.

We successfully deliver these services though a seasoned staff of export compliance and trade controls analysts all experts in the requirements of the ITAR and the EAR.

For more than twenty years ago FD Associates has assisted its client companies in devising strategies for the successful approval of licenses for a variety of commodities to a wide range of often, sensitive destinations.

Expertise

FD Associates has extensive experience in a full range of licensing and export compliance services, including assistance with commodity jurisdiction requests and product classifications; registration with the U.S. Department of State; preparation of license and agreement applications in compliance with the ITAR or the EAR; and tracking and management of the license review through the State and Commerce Departments and the Department of Defense (DOD).

Export Administration Regulations

FD Associates performs audits of companies' export practices and procedures to determine compliance with the ITAR or the EAR. We also assist companies in establishing procedures for licensing and exporting their commodities in compliance with the ITAR or the EAR regulations.

In addition to our regular program export licensing and compliance seminars held in Vienna, VA, we offer company specific training seminars in the requirements of the ITAR or the EAR.
